A LOCAL THEATRE. FOR YOUNG PEOPLE.
Sunnybank Theatre Group’s Youth program strives to introduce children to the wonderful world of theatre. The program includes drama activities, stagecraft, singing and choreography. Young performers are also taught skills beyond the stage such as team building, self-confidence and problem-solving.
For the remainder of 2019, the program is running from 5-6 pm on Tuesdays.
In 2020 Bec plans to have two groups working towards an End of Semester Showcase for family and friends.
Primary school aged (Tues 4:30 – 5:30)
High school-aged (Tues 5:30 - 6:30)
ABOUT OUR COORDINATOR
Bec is a Beaudesert girl who discovered her love of performing during dance lessons at the age of 2. She has been dancing at BeauDance Academy for the past 20 years and is also now teaching there. Bec has been teaching vocal lessons for the past 5 years and recently started teaching a performing arts program for homeschoolers, teaching them all about stage and performance skills. She was involved with BAMS Theatre inc’s junior group, Bambinos for 7 years before becoming one of the co-ordinators 9 years ago. Bec has performed in many theatrical productions over the last 10 years and has enjoyed her time in roles including Liesl in The Sound of Music in 2011, Vicky in The Odd Couple in 2016, and Neuro in A Little Box Of Oblivion in 2017. Her most recent roles have been as vocal director and performer for The Bamettes in a production of In The Mood - Music of the 1930s and as Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical.
